Privacy Policy

Meltbox — Temporary files, auto-clear.

Summary: Meltbox is designed to be local-first. It does not require an account, does not upload your files to a cloud service, does not scan your full photo library, and does not monitor your clipboard in the background.

1. Information We Collect

Meltbox is designed to store temporary content locally on your device. The app may store the following types of content only when you choose to add them:

Screenshots and images
Files and documents
Text snippets
Links
Basic metadata needed to manage items, such as creation time, expiration time, file type, and file size

This content is used to provide the app’s core features, such as temporary storage, copying, sharing, previewing, and automatic clearing.

2. Local-First Storage

Meltbox stores temporary items locally on your device. We do not operate a cloud storage service for your Meltbox content, and your files are not uploaded to our servers.

3. Photos, Files, and Sharing

You may add content to Meltbox through the iOS Share sheet or other system-provided interactions. Meltbox does not scan your full photo library. If you choose to save an item to Photos or Files, iOS may ask for permission at that time.

4. Clipboard

Meltbox does not monitor your clipboard in the background. The app may write content to the clipboard only when you choose an action such as Copy Image, Copy Text, or Copy Link. Where supported by iOS, Meltbox may set an expiration time for clipboard content it writes.

5. Face ID and Privacy Features

If you enable Face ID protection, authentication is handled by iOS. Meltbox does not receive or store your Face ID biometric data.

6. Notifications

If you enable expiration reminders, Meltbox may schedule local notifications to remind you before temporary items expire. These notifications are generated locally on your device. You can disable notifications at any time in the app or in iOS Settings.

7. Analytics

Meltbox may collect non-content usage information if analytics are enabled in a future version, such as whether an import succeeded or whether an item was cleared. Such analytics would not include the actual files, images, text, links, or user-created content stored in Meltbox. If analytics are added, this policy will be updated accordingly.

8. Data Deletion

Temporary items are intended to expire and be cleared. You can also manually clear individual items or clear all temporary content. Once an item is cleared, it may not be recoverable.

9. Children’s Privacy

Meltbox is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide notice in the app.
