Meltbox Support

Temporary files, auto-clear.

About Meltbox

Meltbox is a local-first temporary box for screenshots, images, files, text, and links. It helps you keep one-time content separate from your photo library and files, then clear it automatically when it expires.

Common Questions

How do I add something to Meltbox?

Use the iOS Share sheet from Photos, Files, Safari, screenshots, or other apps, then choose Meltbox. You can keep the item temporarily, copy it, share it again, or clear it manually.

Does Meltbox upload my files?

No. Meltbox is designed to work locally on your device. It does not upload your content to a cloud service.

Can I recover an item after it is cleared?

Items are intended to be temporary. Once an item is cleared or expires, it may not be recoverable. Save important items to Photos, Files, or another location before they expire.

Why does the screenshot editor return after sharing to Meltbox?

iOS controls the system screenshot editor. After Meltbox receives a screenshot through the Share sheet, iOS may return you to the screenshot editor. If you do not want the screenshot saved to Photos, tap Done and choose the system option to delete the screenshot.
